You’ll want to target grease and stains on the outside of your barbecue or outdoor kitchen. Golden Care BBQ Cleaner is a ready-to-use cleaner for suitable enamel, stainless steel and powder-coated metal surfaces. The bottle contains 750 ml. First check the finish and your barbecue’s care instructions.

Assess the exterior by material

Golden Care’s Dutch information lists enamel, stainless steel and powder-coated metal. Check the finish of the parts you want to clean and follow the barbecue manufacturer’s care instructions. A barbecue can have several different materials, so assess each part individually before using the cleaner.

This product information describes use on the exterior and other suitable surfaces as stated on the label. It does not confirm use on grill grates, burners, the interior or parts that come into contact with food. For those parts, follow the barbecue manufacturer’s own instructions and use a suitable product.

Prepare and test first

Protect your work area and wear the household gloves and any other protective equipment specified on the bottle. First test the cleaner on an inconspicuous area. Check that the finish is suitable and intact before proceeding. If the coating is damaged or the material is unknown, seek advice first.

Golden Care’s Dutch training material describes the BBQ Cleaner as ready to use. Apply it according to its own label. A ready-to-use product has its own application instructions; do not add other cleaning products or use the contact time of another BBQ product unless instructed to do so.

Three minutes and gentle cleaning

Golden Care’s Dutch instructions specify a three-minute contact time. Then use a suitable sponge or soft cleaning pad and gently clean the permitted surface. Choose a tool that is also suitable for the finish of the barbecue or outdoor kitchen. A hard tool is not automatically the next step for a stubborn stain.

Rinse with water as instructed. If necessary, repeat the cleaning according to the label and check the result. Complete the cleaning step before using another treatment. If the instructions differ, follow those on your bottle and the appliance’s care instructions.

Continue caring for the clean exterior

After cleaning, Golden Care describes applying BBQ Protector. Read its separate label and check the material and intended use again. Cleaning and protecting are two different steps, each with its own instructions.

Check the condition again at your next maintenance session. The cleaner is intended for dirt, grease and stains; lasting damage or a deteriorated finish requires a separate assessment. Close the bottle after use and store it according to the label so the instructions are available next time.
