After cleaning stainless steel, you can apply a protective treatment to the suitable metal parts. Golden Care Stainless Steel Protector & Rust Preventer contains corrosion inhibitors and a protective wax. It makes the surface water- and dirt-repellent and helps slow down corrosion. This version contains 500 ml and is not intended for sand- or glass-blasted stainless steel.
Protect after targeted cleaning
First check if there is any dirt or rust present. Golden Care describes Stainless Steel Cleaner & Rust Remover as a preparatory step for this. The Protector follows afterwards on the properly cleaned surface. By using the two products separately, you first treat the present contamination and then the protection of the stainless steel.
The product is linked by the manufacturer to corrosion inhibitors and a protective wax. Use it to maintain suitable stainless steel and assess the condition in between. Continue to pay attention to contamination and the maintenance advice of your furniture. The treatment makes checking the surface part of the maintenance.
The finish determines if the product is suitable
Check before use what stainless steel finish your furniture has. Golden Care excludes sand- and glass-blasted stainless steel. If you cannot determine the finish, first request the furniture information. The material name stainless steel is insufficient to maintain all finishes with the same treatment.
With a combined piece of furniture made of wood, textiles, and other parts besides the metal, pay attention. Work on the suitable stainless steel parts and follow the instructions for the workspace and personal protection. This way you can carry out the treatment carefully without automatically taking other materials with you.
Apply a thin layer and buff out
First clean the stainless steel according to the appropriate product instructions. Shake the bottle of Protector and distribute a thin layer over the suitable surface. Use the tool and the amount described on the label. Wear the prescribed household gloves and eye protection and protect the area where you work.
The Dutch Golden Care instructions mention drying for three minutes. After that, buff out the surface very well with a soft, clean, and dry cloth. In case of deviating instructions, follow your own bottle label. Buffing out is a separate part of this treatment and therefore belongs to planning the work.
Adjust the maintenance interval to the environment
Golden Care mentions re-treating at least annually. Near the sea or a swimming pool, the manufacturer describes more frequent maintenance. Check your own label and adjust the new treatment to the location and the condition of your furniture. This way, the interval becomes a conscious maintenance choice.
Before the next treatment, assess again whether cleaning is necessary and which finish you are treating. Apply the Protector according to the prescribed route. Store the bottle after the work as stated on the label, so that you have access to the corresponding instructions again during the next maintenance treatment.
