Stains and rust on a stainless steel garden chair or table frame require a targeted cleaning step. Golden Care Stainless Steel Cleaner & Rust Remover cleans stainless steel and removes rust. The bottle contains 500 ml. Check the finish before use: the manufacturer excludes sand- and glass-blasted stainless steel from this treatment.
First determine which stainless steel finish you have
Not all stainless steel garden furniture has the same surface finish. Check your furniture's specifications and, if in doubt, ask whether the stainless steel is sand- or glass-blasted. This cleaner is not intended for that. Therefore, choose the maintenance product based on the material and the finish, so that the application is suitable for the furniture.
Also distinguish between the metal parts and adjacent wood, upholstery, or other materials. The Dutch Golden Care instructions warn that contact with wood can cause stains. Therefore, work specifically on the suitable stainless steel and protect the parts you are not treating. In addition, follow the furniture manufacturer's maintenance advice.
Targeted cleaning with a dry cloth
Protect the work area and wear household gloves and the eye protection specified on the label. Shake the bottle well for at least one minute. Apply a small amount of cleaner to a dry, clean cloth and apply it carefully to the stainless steel. Use the instructions on your own bottle for the quantity and application.
During treatment, a haze forms according to the Dutch instructions. Polish the surface with a clean, dry cloth until dirt and rust have been removed. Repeat the treatment as necessary according to the label. For this product, the described polishing step is therefore part of the use; do not adopt a soaking or rinsing method from another cleaner.
What you assess after cleaning
Inspect the surface after polishing. The cleaner plays a role in removing dirt and rust; assess any remaining spots before continuing. If the material is damaged or the finish is unclear, ask for advice about the furniture. A maintenance product is not a basis for repairing every type of damage.
Golden Care describes following up after cleaning with Stainless Steel Protector & Rust Preventer. That is the protective step for suitable stainless steel. Read the product's own label for this, including the exclusion for sand- and glass-blasted finishes. By carrying out cleaning and protection separately, each product receives the application for which it is intended.
Tailoring your maintenance to the location in the garden
Inspect your stainless steel parts regularly and remove dirt according to the appropriate maintenance instructions. When planning a new maintenance session, the condition of the surface and the advice of your furniture manufacturer come into play. Keep the bottle instructions handy and use the appropriate treatment for each part of your set.
Store the cleaner according to the instructions on the bottle and close the packaging after use. If you have a combination of stainless steel and teak, treat the materials separately and keep the cleaner away from the wood. This way, the method remains linked to the application described for this product.

Can this be used on every stainless steel finish?
No. Golden Care excludes sand-blasted and glass-bead-blasted stainless steel. Check the finish of your furniture.
Should I let this soak for a few minutes?
The Dutch instructions describe applying it with a dry cloth and buffing out the resulting haze. Follow that product-specific routine and the label itself.
Can the cleaner get on the wood next to it?
Golden Care warns against stains on wood. Only work on suitable stainless steel and protect the adjacent materials.
What is the next step?
The manufacturer describes using a Stainless Steel Protector after cleaning. Check the material finish and instructions for that as well.
